Ali Rahmani, also known as Shahrokh, was a young Iranian man serving as a conscript soldier in Karaj. He was just two months away from completing his mandatory military service when his life was cut short during the protest movements in early 2026. On the evening of January 9, 2026, Ali was leaving his family home in the Hesarak neighborhood of Karaj to accompany his mother to a doctor’s appointment. As they were outside their home, Islamic Republic security forces opened fire. Ali was shot directly in the throat and killed. His mother was also wounded by shrapnel during the shooting. Ali was later buried in a joint ceremony alongside three other victims who were killed under similar circumstances in front of their homes. He is remembered as one of the many lives lost during the "Lion & Sun Revolution."
